Uyo, May 30, 2024— Agents from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Uyo Zonal Command, carried out a successful operation, apprehending 40 individuals suspected of internet fraud. The arrests occurred during early morning raids at two distinct locations within the state.
In the coastal town of Eket, authorities nabbed 21 all-male suspects, while in Ikot Ekpene, they apprehended the remaining 19 individuals. The suspects are now in custody, awaiting further investigation and legal proceedings.
